I don't even understand WHY we have to pay the WTC famlies anything. Oklahoma people got nothing, those that died in other bombings got nothing, those that are murdered get nothing. What makes the WTC people so special we, the tax payers, have to give them money? I mean, it was a horrible act to be sure, but why pay them for it?

It's not like most people in america *need* money... we've got enough opportunity that anyone with a computer can make something of themselves at least in some way without needing to be a victim of a major terrorist attack... but this - these are poor people that barely get anything, and now they have no opportunity, a dead family member (or 2 or 3), and no money.

You know what guys? People die all the time and leave a family without a person to earn money. It even happened in my own life. This is called life and there is no reason for me to give them money.

Life involves death, but death does not involve me giving someone money. No one is promised a happy life with money.

I feel sorry for those families, I really do. But ideas like "do my part" does not even address the question or give reason.

You should all give me money, why? I don't have lots of money and after all you should do your part as an American. See how funny that is.

No one, and I mean no one deserves money for the WTC. If you want money go to the source of the terror and get money from them, but not from me. Maybe when you guys start paying 28% of your income to the goverment you will feel much different.

I have never come to a comfortable position about the American Indians. I feel bad for them in one sense, but on the other hand the USA gives them more benefits then any other ethnic group in America combined. As a Christian I have a certain perspective on this, that I know is not popular. Oh, btw... my great, great, great grandfather came over from Germany as a missionary to Frankenmouth (sp?) MI, there is a church in town dedicated to him. He also wrote the definitive English/Chippewa dictionary. Is this who you are talking about?

Or are you talking about India Indians? Well, if the later then UC should compensate them with comparable pay. This is what UC did. What UC gave those in India was awesome compensation compaired to what their average yearly salary is. I think UC should have been held criminally responsible as well.

I'm talking about indian indians.
(as for american indians, I feel pity, respect, and sadness for what we did to them, but that is a completely different subject =D)

I feel they shouldn't necisarily get compensation. However, justice needs to be done. I know that these people worked hard for this company, and their families not only need money to survive without them, but they also need money (or at least improved conditions) to make up for the loss of an important employer.
Also, we should be helping out EVERYONE in nations less advantaged than us with stricter trade laws, imho, not just those in this special case.

I love forced charity...oh wait.
I agree with every point you make here Styles. I hope you saw my guy. So, mark me down as Hitler once and for all people (you know who). Not a commie and never was. Thanks

To think that I will be alive when this country decides to admit and embrace socialism.

All that I have is God's, I am under His and only His athority to do with my money what I should.

I am a part of the whole system, those in need will cry out to God for help, and I if I am right in my heart to respond will heed the call if I hear one.

All this requires the utmost trust, both that I can dicern correctly and that God will raise up others around me in my time of need.

Just do your part, give when others need and freely accept when you need. It's an economic eco system, don't be fooled by greed.
