As narrator begins, the "1000 a.u.c." rotates a few times, very beautifully, monumentally, emotionally. Then it stops.

Rome’s last emperor was named after its first (Augustus), and also after its mythical founder (Romulus, who collaborated with Remus and a lactating wolf).
Romulus Augustulus left his throne to the Goths right after the millenium of Rome’s founding (ab urbe condito).
