Clitorectomy with a shell
|
By refusing to admit to any wrongdoing in the Brent Spar debacle, Shell is effectively calling the protesters, including "many politicians and ministers," a bunch of hysterics. Perhaps a good collective clitorectomy would be in order?
The anger of "politicians and ministers" notwithstanding, Shell's intentions with Shell.com are only to "greenwash" its image. Years after the Brent Spar debacle--an event called the "public relations disaster of the century"--Shell still refuses to accept any lessons from it.
If the point of the Shell site is to show that Shell has improved since Brent Spar, where is the candid, detailed examination of past failures contrasted with recent successes?
Answer: the point of Shell.com is only to show that Shell cares, that Shell is good, that Shell likes people--and that people should like Shell.
Case closed.
