Two paintings by Titian are cut into circles and used to construct two crescent shaped forms of the letter “C”. In Titian’s renaissance painting Schiavona, a woman stands in a pose and she holds up a painting of a portrait. The upheld portrait emulates the older classical style of art. Her expression seems to asks the spectator to take a look. In the second painting, Woman with Mirror, a man (the artist) stands beside a woman and extends an orbed mirror behind her head. The woman faces the spectator, and looks to the side. Her back is shown reflected in the upheld mirror behind her head. The woman pulls aside her hair, as if to listen closely and she points her index finger at her eye.
