I was born & raised in Managua, and lived there for about 17 and a half years.  I left in l974, little over a year after the Dec. 23 earthquake, a day that I'll never forget.  I returned just last month for the first time in 32 years, and felt such a connection with this country of my birth.  My father is from the US, my mother a US citizen born in Puerto Cabezas, and I & most of my siblings were born in el hospital Bautista.

It will be interesting to see how the elections turn out this year!
