Avatar Body Collision

UpStage

UpStage is a web-based tool for virtual performance. It is a visual 2-dimensional communication environment wherein performers are represented with avatars, speech is displayed in cartoon bubbles and spoken out loud using text-to-speech functionality. The use of props and animations are possible. Avatars can be still-frames, flash animations or live FTP webcam images.

Audience can view and participate in live performance events by going to a web page, without having to download and install any additional software. Performers have a variety of tools at their disposal on the stage, which allow the manipulation of avatars, backgrounds and props. Players can also draw directly onto the stage in real time.

The Colliders have created the vision for this tool. For information about tool and downloads, the shows, workshops and regular online walk-through, visit the UpStage home page.
