Sisterhood in theory
Ginnie found Mary sitting at the kitchen table with tears running down her cheeks.
"Oh, Mary. I really have made a mess of things."
"You? No. You're just trying to be a good sister, Ginnie. I'd be proud to have a sister like you."
"You would? Really?"
"Uhhuh. Really. Don't let me keep you. I heard you say you have a doctor's appointment."
Ginnie pulled out the chair beside Mary and sat down. "That was a fib. I was trying to get Jake out of there."
"I saw that man at the grocery store a couple days ago, Ginnie. He seems very nice, you know. I saw him reading the bulletin board."
"My ad, no doubt. This could all be very interesting, but, let's not go there. Speaking of reading, when do you want to start?"
"Forget it. I've made it this far without knowing."
