This image is a cautious image in both a formal and an informal way at the same time. On the one hand it appears as though the protective railing on the roof is being used as a foreground element to separate the centre ground plane ( the nearer buildings ) from the distant plane ( the buildings forming the horizon). On the other hand it reads as a cityscape shot from a safe distance of the perimeter protective railing on a high roof top.
